Using Your Homepage

Preferences & Settings

Setting preferences

Upon registering, you will be prompted to establish your homepage security.

  • Public - Your homepage will be visible to anyone
  • Shared - You choose who can view your homepage
  • Private - Only you will be view your homepage

Editing Preferences

At anytime you may change the security setting of your homepage by clicking on "Edit Setting" on the home page.

Security Icons

Throughout the site you will see the following security icons. They are used to define who can view the related item. These items include Blogs, Photos, Videos or Cubbys. To view more information hover over the icon

  • Public - viewable by anyone Viewable by Anyone
  • Shared - viewable by your group members Viewable by Group (i.e. 'Friends')
  • Private - viewable by you only Viewable by You (private)

Customize Your Home Page

You have the option of customizing your home page to suit your tastes and needs. You can add, move, or delete Cubbys on your home page after you sign in. You will find these controls in the upper right hand corner of each component.

  • To re-arrange Cubbys on your homepage, place your cursor over the Cubby you wish to move until a cross-hair Cross-Hair Mouse Cursor cursor appears, then click and drag it to a different location on your home page.
  • To minimize the detail view of each Cubby, click on the minimize icon Minimize
  • To expand the to the detail view of each Cubby, click the plus icon Maximize
  • To remove a Cubby from your home page, click the close icon Close
  • Some Cubbys have settings that can be changed, to change settings click the settings icon Settings
  • To restore removed Cubbys to your homepage, click "Add Cubbys", add Cubbys from the list, and click "go" to restore them to your homepage.

How do I start my blog?

To start a blog click on "my blogs" at the top of the home page. You can create a blog or edit one of your existing entries. You can designate who can read your entry by selecting from the drop down menu on "Available to:" You may also define what action they can take by selecting from the drop down menu, View or View and Respond. Click save to post your blog to the Message Board.

How do I respond to someone's comment?

Open the thread and click on "comment". A new window will open for you the type in your answer or comment. When you're finished click on save.

How do I rate a thread?

Open the thread by clicking on it. You can select one, two or all three gold stars to rate the thread. Three stars are the best.

What do I do if I come across an inappropriate post?

If you see something that troubles you or violates any of our policies, open the thread and click on the explanation mark. Users opening the thread will receive a warning that the content has been flagged as inappropriate before they can proceed. We will review and either remove the post if inappropriate or unflag if we find the post acceptable.

How do I post a photo?

You must have a Flickr account to post a photo on MyBaby. To signup, click here. You can add photos from your Flickr account by clicking on Find Photos on Flickr. You can search for photos by using your Flickr account user name, by tags, favorites, most interesting, or most recent, then just click find. Once your photos appear on the MyBaby Cubby, click on the photo and add to shared photos. Your photos will be visible on the message board. You can change or update your tags and change who can view or comment on your photos by clicking on My Shared Photos. Photos may be kept private so only you see them or you can make them available to friends, family or anyone belonging to the MyBaby community.

How do I post a video?
