Pregnancy Dreams

Posted November 28, 2007 at 11:24AM by FrecklQn

Do you have vivid, off-the-wall pregnancy dreams? I'm normally a pretty vivid dreamer, but when I'm pregnant, it's pretty wild. I kick myself for not writing these dreams down on paper when I wake up. . .I coud be a best-selling auther!

Anyway, one of my favorites is from when I was pregnant with baby #1--my first daughter. I had found out we were having a girl at a recent doctor appointment. A few nights later, I dreamt that I was standing up, and looking down at my pregnant belly. It was huge, translucent, and slightly pink. . .it looked just like a bubble gum bubble, just before it pops. Inside of the bubble was my baby. She was swimming with her back parallel to the floor. Picture her feet, tucked into my rib cage, as if she were going to backdive out of my belly button. She had a FULL head of black hair, dark eyes, rosy lips, and she was holding her breath, so her cheeks were round and full of "air." She was staring directly into my eyes, and her arms were waving up and down, as if she were treading water. It was unbelievable, and so real.

I woke up and told my husband about it, and we just enjoyed the images! Fast forward a few months to when she was born, and she was a spitting image of my dream. NO JOKE! She came out w/ the fullest head of black hair you could imagine. She had dark, gorgeous eyes, full cheeks, and rosy lips. And when I saw her for the first time, she was in the same position as my dream--arms flailing, eyes looking right at me. I remember feeling instantly in awe and in love. It was my first birth, so it was miraculous for that simple fact. But, after a few weeks of trying to figure out why she looked so familiar, and why I fell so immediately in love, I remembered my dream, and was stunned that I had dreamt her before she was out!

For my second daughter, I naively assumed she'd look just like the first daughter. . .perhaps that's why I never had a dream of what she looked like (and, they look NOTHING alike. can't even tell they're sisters).

But, for this third (and final!) baby, I had a similar dream, and this one is a little boy
(there was nothing pink in the dream like the pink tint in my belly for the first one), who looks just like his oldest sister. He's got a full head of black hair, dark eyes, but no rosy lips. . He's a bit more masculine looking, with broad shoulders, a little more chubby and a gentle soul. . .who knows if I'm right. I'm just so excited to meet this baby!

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

I had dreams for both of my kids, and I knew the sex of both of them from my dreams. I think we know about the baby in us. I just think some of us are more open to the information. Congratulations on your baby boy:)
