Bad Parent looking for advice

Posted September 5, 2007 at 10:52AM by Sticky_Mommy
I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Last night it was my turn to put my DD to bed. As we were snuggling I asked her what her full name was (I like her to practice in case we ever get separated) and she told me. And then she said Connor from her preschool calls her Sylvie-Bilvie.

Me: What do you do when he calls you that?

Her: I tell him to Stop it. Stop it, stop it, stop it.

Me: Does he listen?

Her: No.

Me: You should call him Connor-Bonnor

When I went downstairs I told my husband I needed some help in the parenting advice department, he agreed, but didn’t have much to add.

I’m hoping ya’ll have better ideas for me then acting like a 3 year old.

that is funny. I just always try to tell my DS to treat people as he would like to be treated. Luckily I haven't had to run into any issues such as this yet but I am sure they will be coming soon.

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

Sounds good to me also. I always tell my daughter to ignore the annoying person since they usually stop when they see it doesn't bother her anymore.

Will the next one be ginger too??

I remember getting called "Mandy Pandy" when I was wee. It's just a phase. And don't worry about acting like a 3 year old. I found myself dancing to a sesame street song yesterday much as my 15 month old does. At least you're more mature than me.

I think ignoring it and leaving the situation (if possible) is a good call. As for calling him conner-bonner, it's funny but i don't think it's teaching sylvie the most positive lesson.
