Part Elephant Man – part 4 year old(Hideous photo)

Posted May 27, 2008 at 11:29AM by Sticky_Mommy
I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Like most Mothers I think my kids are very cute, except when they're not. Like now.

My daughter got a bug bite very close to her eye and her whole right side of her face swelled up making her look like the Elephant Man.

When she woke up in the morning her eye was swollen shut. She asked “Mommy, why won’t this eye wake up?” That was cute even though she was hard to look at.

Judge for yourself.

Massage therapist, martial artist, butt-kickin' momma.

Aw, she looks just like her daddy...LOL!!! That's a bummer. Nothing like a little bug to make a really big impression.

Poor darlin'! And to think you posted this photo - she's gonna get you for that! She's still adorable and I'm glad u were catering to her sweet tooth while she was playing elephant face.

Walking wild child on board! Watch out!

I know the feeling. My daughter woke up Monday with a swollen eye, like someone punched her. By Tuesday it was bigger!. Took her to the doctor and he said it was secondary to a sinus infection (preseptal cellulitis) Luckily it responded to treatment. Hopefully your little one did well too!

Mother’s Day – is it better without the kids?

Disclaimer: I might be self indulgent and selfish.

Yes, I LOVE my children and love playing with them and watching them interact with the world, however…I wish I could have slept in past 7:30 on Mother’s Day. Feel me? And really maybe the day wasn’t focused on me enough. I was very happy to get breakfast in bed, thrilled to get my new necklace made by my daughter, but then we got on with our day like we would any Sunday. Ran some errands, went to the park, ate left over’s. It was a really lovely day spent with my family and of course without them I wouldn’t be a Mother.

I needed more doting, more accolades, more foot rubbing. Should Mother’s Day be spent with the kids part of the day and then you bail so you can have some time solo?

I hear ya and I know what you are saying. Our day was spent celebrating all the mom's in our life but I spent way too much time in the kitchen and cleaning up. Guess a mother's work is never really done and Mother's day is more of a hallmark holiday than we want to admit. But boy did I love getting my first handmade card and the excitement on my little guy's face when he handed it to me. You can't buy that anywhere. :)

That photo is great! And of course we all love them more when they're asleep and not arguing with us - kidding (almost). Maybe next time your Mom could be there, and you could take turns being pampered......?

Certainly not. Kids are cute and they have brought in lot of joy into our lives. No doubt they get cranky and messy and naughty but thats their growing phase. Mothers Day is celebrated by mothers worldwide to show off the fact that they are mothers then why not celebrate with the kids.

  drop it like it's hot

great pic. no...do whatever you want it's your day...just don't go on a weekend vacation with another man (unless divorced, different story). that's about where I'd draw the line. :)

Yes....totally. Mother's should have a quite house to sleep late, coffee and breakfast waiting for them around 11am and then dh and child(ren) arrive back home around 3pm and child(ren) in bed by 8pm.
I hear ya.
