Those Lazy Summer Days...

Mommy of 2 Girls!

Ok, so I have a slightly lunatic 6 yr old border collie mix and a fast crawling 15 mth old girl.  I am a work at home mom, but when baby girl (bg) is awake and I'm caught up w/work - it's a beautiful day & I think, "Wow, I think we will go outside and have fun!"  NOPE  We have been to the beach lots this summer, we have wandered around the air conditioned mall and fought off impulse shopping, we have sat and acted like couch potatoes, and we have played in the kiddie pool in the backyard.  I need some new ideas!  Does anyone have some clever ideas on keeping youngins occupied as well as exercising a wacko dog without causing heat stroke?  (It's in the 90's here almost daily.) We don't have to be entertaining both at once, but I need some ideas to stimulate the both of them :)  bg I'm sure will appreciate it, you know how toddlers start to get tired of their own toys and decide to get interested in EVERYTHING else in the house?

run under the sprinkler, paint, fill up a water table or even just the kitchen sink, add some cups and have her play in the water filling and pouring. Read books, make smoothies. It is hard when it is so hot out. It has been in the 80s-90s around here too. I take them to the water as much as I can. I try not to run around too much when it is that hot out. It is too much on everyone.

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

This is a fun one when folding laundry. Take a fitted sheet and flap it up in the air out over your DD and then as the sheet is coming down you jump under as well. Like a big parachute. It's big fun.

Story hours are great too b/c those are usally in AC rooms. Try the events section for other good outing ideas!

Any yeah, how abou them collies? Kinda filled with energy!
