well dh called last night with an update on his trip. the job fair was not very good and he can't find us a place to live. all of the place that he has been to see are already rented or are not nice or have $1000s of fees on top of the 1st month and deposit. hopefully today will be more productive with a couple of company open houses and a few rentals to see plus he is going to drive around for a few hours and see if there are any signs in windows. portland is too nice. everyone loves it too much.

Life is crazy but wonderful.

Find out the rental laws before you pay any extra fees. I know here in VT it is against the law to charge 1st, last & security, but a lot of landlords still do either not knowing or trying to get away with more money and most people pay extra fees that are illegal. I believe each state has a housing dept in the state gov't. Good luck.
