Freaking Out

Posted July 3, 2007 at 1:09PM by cosmoblue

So, I am freaking out. We are moving. We have given out notice at home and at work. We can't wimp out again. I want to go so much but I really dislike moving. It is not fun. I know that things are going to better for us financially after we get settled in in Portland and DH has a job, but it is so far away. I was watching Laguna Beach on The N yesterday and I felt guilty that I am taking DD away from the beach lifestyle. We don't ever have time to go to the beach so it is kinda silly. There is so much that we are moving to and so much that we are leaving behind. Ahhhh! July is going to be the shortest/longest month ever.

Sometimes it feels like we have to walk through a wall of fire (read, big discomfort) to get to the other side of a bad situation or to get to what we want. Most of the time, our worries (imagined) are far greater than the reality of the inconvenience.

The big move is a major p.i.t.b. but once you're in Oregon, you'll breathe a big sigh of relief and then inhale a completely different place. There's a ton of adventure & discovery you'll all get to make together. Tillamook Bay isn't a nice warm LA beach, but you won't be too too far from splashing around on the Pacific Ocean.

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

It's kinda like going to the denist, it's no fun getting your teeth cleaned & hanging out with your mouth open, but after you have a million dollar smile.

Think about what you're moving toward & that may help give you some perpective and what you're taking DD away from. I know as a former CA gal, my body image is much better now that I don't live there! And I'm not what I drive.

I'll be honest, the weather is the thing I miss most. It blows anywhere else! However, I love summer and have something to look forward to. And each season has it's good points, but really the weather in CA rules!
