What NOT to say on a GONDOLA ride!

dishing the dirt, cleaning the chaos

Alright, today I took the kids to Stowe to go snowboarding, aka snowcrying, on the beginner hill. Well, after two runs, a cocktail and 45 minutes spent in the bathroom (NOT because of me!), DSN and I decided that we would just ride around and around on the gondola.

We pick up a lovely young couple for a ride across the parking lot and no joke, they sit down and my adorable child says,

"Once upon a time, there was a gondola and it fell. And everyone died." (look of silent bewilderment bounces around the gondola)...then he says, "No, once upon a time, there was a window open (in the gondola) and everyone fell out and died."

Then he just sat smiling at the couple. I got a few back-glances as they left the moving cart (we had another lap to do)...I suggested he not tell stories in gondolas about gondolas where "people die."

Most people who have kids know that childrens' imaginations are the wildest. My favorite wacky quote from our daughter was while we were in Cyprus, and we lost track of the other couple's car we were following. My DD and the other couple's daughter noticed my husband and I were trying to be casual as we looked down the steep mountain sides (the road was scary and it was rainy). DD then pipes up to the other couple's daughter: "If your parents are dead, are you going to suicide yourself?"

Hilarious Mumsey! The last time I took DS on a plane, during the decent he kept announcing "mommy! We're going down!"

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Did he say it with a knife in his hand? Because that would be scary.
