Three is for me!

Yes, it IS hard going to the grocery store with 3 kids, it doesn't matter HOW old they are! That was my fun errand for the afternoon, the twins were all over the place and the baby screamed the entire time!!!  Nevr again, never again, i'm done! My nerves are STILL frazzled. The baby is still screaming and at this moment the twins are saying mommy mommy mommy....I guess I should stop blogging!

I hate grocery shopping & it seems that I'm at the store everyday! I often drive 20 miles away b/c thier is a play center at a grocer store who will watch my oldest while I shop with the baby. It's a mad panic. If you guys are intersted - NetGrocer has a $10 off $50 order, it's on your home page - shop-on-line and get your groceries deliverd. Handanmyl - they ship frozen & fridge items to VT.

Three is for me!

I started weight watchers (again) last week. I just couldn't take looking at the excess baby fat in the mirror anymore, I had to do something. I did weight watchers last year and did pretty well so I thought I could do it again. So far I have lost 1.4 lbs! This week I start my treadmill workouts. I WILL stick to it this time! I'm excited, I hope to lose another 27 lbs. Wish me luck!

Three is for me!

My ex-husband called yesterday. He wants to take the twins for a week this summer. I don't want him to. First of all, he lives in Florida, they would have to fly alone. Second, he hasn't seen the since the summer of 2005...his fault. We went down there for a vacation (my fam is there) and he had them for 4 days, when we went to pick them up, his parents shut our vehicle in their yard and locked the gate and threatened to not give the girls back to me. Luckily I had my cell with me and I called 911, with that call they opened the gate, but he was reluctant to let me have the girls. When I finally got them in the vehicle, they were scared to death! So of course I don't trust him to return them to me after a week. He says he promises to give them back, that he is a different person now, but I am still scared. I know I can't stop him, he pays child support, and he has joint custody. My husband got online last night and found out that unaccompanied minors can only fly on non-stop flights! Thank goodness there are none from Burlington to Tampa!!!! Safe for now!

I would hire an attorney if I were you and tell them the story you posted. You have reason to be afraid, child support and visitation are separate issues and you should protect your children from possible kidnapping or even the threat of it; it causes harm to your children. He should only be allowed supervised visits. Good luck to you, I know what it is like.

make him get his buns on a plane...can you do that? does he not understand why this is traumatic for the girls? offer to pay for his flight or hotel rm (just to have some leverage)...something like that maybe? what if he rented a place here for a week? that'd cost almost as much as two plane tickets. or can you go? tough situation!

DONT let them out of your sight. Hire and attorney (or call a free one if you can't afford it.) Tell them what happened last time, and make sure that he is not allowed unsupervised visits EVER. You don't want to risk it, and of course you don't want to put them through the trauma.AGAIN, DON'T put them on the plane to him alone. I'm sure you have a legal case. Just ask around for the right lawyer to help you.

I am so mad right now. I hate Comcast. So I have Comcast and a dvr and I tape everything and watch it later in the evening after it has started so I can whiz through the ads. I ran through most of the two hour special watched a few things here and there but at 10:05 I FF to the end only to find the show had run over and Comcast doesn't auto go over so I quickly switched to live tv only to find I had missed the announcment and Jordan was singing the final winning song. What was worse was that Fox puts on this entire two hour long show only to not even let you watch the winner sing the final song. The credits started rolling as she was still singing. ARGH!

I hope I don't get in trouble here. The fog of age may be skewing my memory, but I'm pretty sure my midwife told me that it was okay to have a glass if you timed it right - as in nurse, drink, not nurse for a few hours while the alcohol wore off. Nothing crazy like polishing off the bottle by yourself, but a glass with dinner or whatever.

The lactation consultant said that as long as you don't nurse within 2 hours of your sensible drink you are good to go. She also says that when you don't feel the effects anymore you are probably safe which ever comes first.

I agree with both birdiehandmade & cosmoblue. Alcohol acts in your milk as it does in your bloodstream. I would only worry about having to pump and dump if you have to nurse right away or something. I never did that. I just did the timing thing like everyone has said so far. As long as it isn't all the time you are fine.

Oh, I'm really going to stir it up - I've never drank as much booze or caffine since becoming a parent. I drank coffe and througout my pregnancy & had a glass of wine or beer 1 or 2X's per week after 25 weeks. I also breastfeed and have a glass of wine or a cocktail w/dinner 4X per week and nurse my son after an hour after. My lactation consultant said as long as you don't feel buzzed from the caffine or wine, the baby won't either. And to stick to a glass/cup of each. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never found anything I eat effect my kids through my breast milk.

My husband is out of town ... again. This time to Kansas. I know he needs to go, it's part of his job. Don't get me wrong, I love spending time with my kids, but I also enjoy a little adult time. The phone just isn' t the same. When the kids are acting up it makes it even harder to bear. I don't mean to make him feel guilty, but when he is on the phone with me I always seem to complain alot and I end up doing just that. I really need to focus on not complaining so much when he is away. When he is here everything is so perfect! I guess I just miss him!

Ok, so I've been nursing Mylie for 8 weeks and 2 days, in that time, I have nursed at the mall, at my kids gymnastics class, even on an airplane with 2 strange men next to me. I thought I had the hang of this, until today. I started back to work 2 days a week, so while I am there  I have to pump, well, i am the only one at work with kids, let alone NURSING. I was in the office when one of the younger girls comes barging in while I am hooked up to a DOUBLE ELECTRIC BREASTPUMP!!!! I'm sure she was more embarrassed than I was, but my face definitely was red!!!! Anyone else out there who have had something like this happen? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

Drama

Posted May 17, 2007 at 12:31AM by handanmyl
Three is for me!

I had no idea that girly drama starts at 7 years old!!! My daughters had their 7th birthday this past Saturday. It was all going great, we had the girl scout troop over first, then the party started an hour later. When Danielle's best friend got here, things changed drastically. She wanted Danielle all to herself, but Danielle wanted to play with all of her friends. So, her friend refused to play any of the games and would only cry in a corner. I tried to get her involved, but to no avail. One of the other moms that stayed to help out, said that this child has done this before, and just wants all the attention from only one friend. In order to keep her friend happy, Danielle left her other friends and tried to make her happy. It didn't work very well, because her friend was miserable. I let her mother know that I didn't think she had a good time, her mom didn't seem to be too surprised about how her daughter acted. After the party, I found out that the reason nobody else wanted to play with her was because she was telling them that she hated them and she hated our house. Wow.....drama already! And now I have another daughter to start all over with!!!! hahahahaha

I have twin 7 year old daughters. Sometimes they come home from school saying the most random things. But today I was completely caught off guard when Hannah asked me when she could get a bra! Apparently her friend has one so now she would like to have one too. I think I answered it pretty well, I was completely calm and said, "When you get breasts, you can have a bra." That must have been the answer she was looking for because she just smiled and said "ok" and ran off to her room to play. Amazing

Middle of the night feedings

Posted May 16, 2007 at 12:05AM by handanmyl
Three is for me!

I love nursing my daughter. I believe that it has given us a bond that I truly treasure. I was unable to nurse my now 7 year old twin daughters, it has always been a regret of mine. With this 2nd chance I am feeding on demand and enjoy every minute of it....except for one thing.....for some reason Mylie only spits up on me. If my husband burps her, it is clean. If I have a burp cloth, it is clean. But in the middle of the night, she will spew breastmilk all over me and the bed and herself, forcing us to get up and change the sheets! At this point, burp clothes do nothing to help the situation. Yet, with all the chaos and mess in the night, I still wouldn't give up our special bond.

Of course she only spits up on your or the sheets! If you're prepared it won't happen. Do this test: have your huband put on a nice shirt that has to be dry cleaned and see what happens. My son is 11 months is very squirmy & nursing is the only time for cuddling. I love it!

Don't give up the nursing. The middle of the night mess is a pain, but sooner than seems possible, the nursing will be over, and you'll miss it. The other day my 3 1/2 yr old brought up nursing out of the blue (we stopped when he was 2) and started to cry because he couldn't nurse any more.

It might have something to do with night-time feeding...like darker room, or perhaps your eyes are closed so you're more sensitive to sounds and touch and so you're burping her differently?

We have finally welcomed our third child into the world. Mylie Lynn was born on March 23, 2007 at 11:47 am, weighing in at a wopping 8lbs 10oz! She was born by scheduled ceserean. This was my 2nd c-section and it went much better than my last. I was up walking around the next day. Mylie had some fluid in her lungs and the nurses brought her to NICU right away, but after having her for an hour, they saw that she was fine and brought her down to us. She was so beautiful! Chubby with a full head of dark hair.
