Tough Stuff

Posted July 23, 2007 at 10:14AM by handanmyl
Three is for me!

i have been having some major problems lately with hannah's behavior. she as always had a temper, but lately she has been very aggressive and is now hitting to show her anger. i have tried everything in the book to straighten her out but nothing is working. so i contacted a councelor, thinking if she can't talk to me, she needs to talk to someone so i can get to the root of this issue. so now i have an appointment for an assessment, but the tough part is, how do i tell her? i have no idea how to go about it. she is extremely sensitive and i don't want her to explode and refuse to go, or go and give the councelor a hard time. any suggestions??????

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

That is a hard one, maybe just tell her that she is going to see a doctor that is going to help her sort out her feelings to make her feel better. The doctor is going to teach her how to use her words instead of her hands. I'm sure the therapist has dealt with children that don't want to be there and knows how to coax them out of their shells.

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

I would be upfront with her and say sometime it helps to talk things through with people outside your family. Tell her she's been very angry lately and you know it's not fun for her to be so mad all the time, and talking to a councelor can help you figure out what makes you mad & and make room for good feelings.
