Last month there was a recall of Infant Car Seats made by Evenflo. The recall involves Evenflo Embrace Infant Car Seat/Carriers made before April 8, 2006. The recalled car seat/carriers have model numbers beginning with 317, 320, 397, 398, 540, 548, 549, 550, 597, 598, or 599. The model number and production date information can be found on a white label on the bottom of the carrier and on the top of the convenience base. If you're not sure, here's the web address to find out more information: www.embracehandle.com
The other one is regarding counterfeit Colgate toothpaste found in discount stores in 4 states, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The label, shows it as being manufactured in South Africa but Colgate-Palmolive said it doesn't import toothpaste from South Africa to the US. The packaging also contains several misspellings. I'm not the alarmist type, at the same time it's good to know what's going on out there & I find it hard to keep up with stuff sometimes. If you have a beef with a product, you might not be the only one, speak up, you can report it at the US Consumer Product Safey Commission at: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html
Be happy & be safe my friends
