Easter presents

Posted February 4, 2008 at 1:25PM by vtmomof2
Life is crazy but wonderful.

What do you usually get your kids for easter?  I usually get them a small chocolate bunny, a couple of reeses peanut butter eggs, a stuffed animal, little toys, and a big toy.  The little toys I usually put in plastic eggs that we hide.  The kids love looking for the eggs.  This year though I have filled my son's basket with books, I got my daughter an Endangered Species book (she is an earth science enthusiast, who spent her christmas gift card on a global warming book) and I plan on getting her a cd, and now I am at a lost.  I think I might get my son some paints because he doesn't have any and has started to show an interest in wanting to paint, but I have no idea what to get my daughter.  I haven't even filled her basket.  I always spend  a lot of time planning easter because I love easter, it is my second favorite holiday, and we always have a big egg hunt.  Any suggestions for a small toys that can fill a basket for a 10 year old girl?

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

You have good ideas! I promised myself I would not buy anymore throw away toys, plastic junk that is not going to get used for more then an hour.

What about craft stuff for your DD? Or some movie rentals or movie tickets?

Movie rentals may work. I was going to get her movie tickets to hannah montana for valentines day, but of course it is not playing in Burlington. Very frustrating.

The Greater Good Store (which donates profits to Children's health, Saving the Rainforest, etc.) has some great specials for kids that are under $10. (Especially as you DD is interested in ecology). www.thehungersite.com gives you access to the store, and you decide which site you want to get the monetary credit for - Hunger, Child Health, Breast Cancer, etc. Just a thought!
