I just tried it--- what a trip! They make you watch a video, stand naked and wear a funny hat!

I hope my fat looks better orange than pasty white, lol.

Yes I agree, bumpy bits look better with a fake tan. I haven't done the spray, just the lotion.

from the wall st journal: THESE BETTER BE GOOD....I guess it's not the same buying mom jeans from walmart, though, right?

Ask Mom

The story of the Totally Slimming jeans began accidentally last August. Levi Strauss had convened a group of moms and their daughters at corporate headquarters in San Francisco to come up with ideas for new girls' jeans.

While the daughters -- all fourth-graders -- were working on the jeans, "we needed something for the moms to do, so we started to talk," recalls Ms. Hudak. "They started talking about what their biggest jeans concerns were, and body image constantly came up. Their concerns were around what they viewed as problem areas: the tummy, the thighs and the behind. No matter what she looked like, they had the same concerns."

ON THEIR WAY
With design hurdles overcome, the new jeans will be available in stores starting late next month

5 simple tips for stress free playdates!

Posted June 24, 2008 at 7:53AM by wildmom
if mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy

Getting kids together over the summer? Well, I thought it might be good to mention: a little planing goes a long way!

1. Put out the toys other kids can play with. Hide the ones you don't want to end up cleaning up (legos, trains, etc).
2. Prepare "stations" for kids to move around to. Example- I put ride on toys our by our little tiny slope in the yard, chalk by the front driveway, soccer balls over in the field, etc.
3. Get a pitcher of beverage ready. Paper cups or easy kid-cups can be stashed next to the pitcher...kids over three can get their own drinks.
4. Play early...meltdowns are more likely in the afternoon...
5. Have a movie, puppet-show or game as back up. You could even tell a story or read a book and have the kids act it out.If the weather turns, 4 kids running around inside isn't fun at all!

Much better ideas then what I do - let the kids make a mess of my house with no planning! Then I don't get to have grown up time with the parents. Thanks

what did you do for father's day?

if mom ain't happy, ain't nobody happy

Hello ladies & gents.
Now that the big day has come and gone, tell us...what did you do to celebrate dad?

I'll tell you what we did over here in paradise.

I made a failed attempt at bacon bowls, we went on a bike ride, took the kids to gymnastics and we hired a couple hicks with a truck to clean a pile of junk from the side yard. Good times.

The gifts? Well, dad scored socks, t-shirts and a pair of Stewie PJs. Not to mention, the kids smashed whipped cream pies in his face.

Then, we hung out outside...fun, fun.

Hope your day was super!

I made breakfast burritos then we went on a big bike ride in the morning. We gave my DH two blueberry bushes for his gift so in the afternoon we planted those and hung out in the back yard.

The long awaited Fathers Day this year turned out to be a depressed day for us. My son is 16 months old now and is down with fever and related problems. We wanted to get both our parents to our new home and have a big do and a family portrait....nothing worked as our little star was so ill that day. Hoping at least next year will be a better one.

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

I have heard that it does. It doesn't in my kids, but I know people whose children are affected by food coloring. In our house we don't buy those sugary cereals, only kix and cheerios, I don't think they have food coloring, but I have been surprised by some things that have food coloring in it. We have been trying to change our eating habits by buying more whole food. It has taken a long time, but now my kids want fruit for snacks instead of the sugary stuff they ate before. I feel better giving them whole fresh food.

I very strongly believe it can make some children have behavioral issues. Get all the crap out of our food is what I say. Artificial colors, flavors, high fructose corn syrup - all that crap. I am sick of the government and big food companies serving crap to us. I don't buy any of it but I don't think it should be in our foods.

Food coloring drives me nuts! It's just an advertising ploy to get you to buy the darn stuff. Is it really necessary to eat something bright blue that isn't a blueberry? I don't buy anything with food coloring, either. There's no need to eat yogurt that's green...
