I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

My kids are 2 & 4. Right now we start getting ready at 7:30 and they are in bed by 8. That's way too late, but it's summer and we're outside playing, picking blueberries, etc. They're up between 6:30 & 7.

Next week - the crack down! Start bedtime at 7 and into bed by 7:30.

No, not bad - just real. Last night they were up until 8:45, and another time this week it was 9:30. Hey it happens.

LOL - I just thought of something, my Mom hates it when I say, "I have to put the kids down." She thinks I'm euthanizing them.

my kids are 6 and 3. Bedtime in the summer is we start at 7:00 (clean up, pjs, reading) and lights out at 8:00. School year lights out at 7:30.

Will the next one be ginger too??

My wee one is 2 and in preschool. We were doing 8:30 and his teacher said he's exhausted by 10am, so we started the bedtime routine around 7:30 and lights out at 8. Then he's up at 6:45 and has enough energy to make it to nap time at noon the next day.

The best advice my mother ever gave me when I had my first child was to establish early bedtimes for your kids. The kids need the sleep and you need the peace. I would go crazy if my kids were up until 9:00 or later. I know as they get older the bedtime will get later but for now they are still young and need the sleep. I so value the time I have to myself and with my husband.

Live life on the edge, Have a baby... lol

well my husband and i own our own business, he barely works so we're really relaxed parents. lol or just lazy? we let the kids stay up till around 10! so i must be terrible! i have an almost 2 year old and a 5 month old. the 2 year old (Haylea) wakes up at around 8, but lately she decided 6am suites her better, so bedtime started creaping back to around 8pm. lol the 5 month old (Sarah) wakes up during the night a few times still, she's breastfed, and then she's up for real when her sister wakes up and makes all the noise. lol.
so she still gets proper sleep, just at a later time than other families. do i sound horrible? lol

Goofing around with my babies - Big and Lil

My 19 month old son goes to bed by 7.30 or 8.00pm. I'm trying to delay his bed time to 9.00pm so that I don't have to give him bottled milk late in the night when he wakes up hungry.

ooops....this family left their kid at the airport

Israeli parents forget daughter at airport

1 hour, 11 minutes ago

An Israeli couple going on a European vacation remembered to take
their duty-free shopping and their 18 suitcases, but forgot their
3-year-old daughter at the airport, police said Monday.

The couple and their five children were late for a charter flight to
Paris Sunday and made a mad dash to the gate. In the confusion, their
daughter got lost.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said a policeman found her
wandering in the duty-free area at Ben-Gurion airport, Israel's
bustling main international air portal. He said the officer alerted
airline staff, but the flight had already taken off.

Israeli media said the parents were an ultra-Orthodox Jewish couple but did not give their names.

Rosenfeld said the parents were unaware they had boarded the
aircraft with only four children instead of five until they were
informed by cabin staff after 40 minutes in the air.

The child, accompanied by an airline staffer, took the next flight to Paris where she was safely reunited with her parents.

Rosenfeld said police would question the couple when they return from vacation, on suspicion of parental negligence.

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

It sounds more like an unfortunate moment rather than negligence. I can't imagine how awful they felt when they learned that they left their child behind.

I don't care if you have 9 kids - hello!!! Do a head count. I can't believe they forgot their daughter and then didn't notice until someone told them.
