Thanksgiving Tips Contest

Posted November 15, 2007 at 3:02PM in Talk Around The Playground General by mommylove | Back

Having the time of my life!

My thanksgiving tips are as follows:

Begin one to two days before.

I have a rotato express machine which takes the peel off the apple making it much faster to create the apple pie.

Veggie Casserole Recipe:
To serve 6,
one bag frozen California Veggie Mix (carrots, caulflower, broccoli); defrosted
One cup frozen onions and one package sliced mushrooms,
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese and 1 cup shredded jack cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup and 1 can of milk
1 cup cheese and garlic croutons
Saute the onions and mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter until softened.  Meanwhile combine the cheeses, soup, milk and croutons and sprinkle with freshly ground pepper. Toss with the onions and mushrooms.  Bake uncovered in a preheated 400 degree oven until brown on top and bubbly (45 minutes to 1 hour).  Even the kids will love it. You can make this one or two days before.

If you have a separate dining room, set it one to two days before.  Lay a napkin over the plate so no dust or hair falls onto the plate and make sure the glasses are upside down.

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

OMG my grandmother something similar to this, and it is so good. Thanks for a great recipe.

Having the time of my life!

you are welcome. My aunt gave me the recipe but I changed it a bit and adapted it to reduce the time in the kitchen. My son absolutely loves it. So does my hubby.

Where am I and what have they done to my body?

Veggies and cheese, what's not to like. It sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing.

I forgot one thing, make sure the bag of veggies is a large bag (32 oz.). Otherwise use 2 16 oz bags. When baked the mixture should be gooey, not loose.
I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.
