Thanksgiving tips contest

Posted November 16, 2007 at 6:46AM in Activities, Arts & Crafts by colombo1203 | Back

To keep the kids busy while I prepare things in the kitchen, we have them make name cards that we attach to the back of the chairs with yarn or other festive string.  Take a 1/2 sheet of construction paper, have kids trace hands for turkey, have them color and decorate, or use other Thanksgiving themed designs. For younger children, have them paste precut designs that you can get free from the internet onto name cards after coloring.   Either print out names of guests and lets kids cut and paste onto art work, or if you want to practice thier writing skills give them a written list of guests names and let them write it on each name tag.  Punch holes in the top when kids are finished decorating and hang on back of chairs with string.  Keeps kids busy for hours and they look forward to it at each holiday.  Then enjoy the kid free kitchen while it lasts!
