Best Turkey Tip!

Best Turkey Tip!

  • Aluminum Foil Bag or Cooking Bag
  • Turkey or Turkey Breast
  • 2 Cups Apple Juice
  • 3 cans of Crushed Pineapple
  • 1 large can of Ringed Pineapple
  • Toothpicks

Directions:

Cook Time and everything for Turkey according to the directions for the Turkey.  Place the Ringed Pineapples side by side with toothpicks onto the sides of the Turkey until the Turkey is completely covered with the Pineapple rings (might require 2 large cans of Ringed Pineapples for larger Turkey).  Slide the Turkey with Pineapple rings into the cooking bag.

Add three cans of Crushed Pineapple to the inside of bag.  Pour the 2 Cups of Apple Juice into the bag.  Close the bag and cook for the required Turkey cooktime.  The longer the better while keeping an eye on the turkey.

Suggested sides:  Pepperidge Farms Stuffing, Foiled (Butter the skins) Sweet Potatoes (Yams) cooked in the oven while the Turkey is cooking (add marshmellows to the Sweet Potatoes in the last 15 minutes of baking), classic French's Green Bean Casserole Recipe with Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup (recipe is on box of French's Fried Onions).

Another tip:  Can substitute Turkey for Goose or Ham!

Happy Thanksgiving!

What it does along with the apple juice is keep all of the juices in the Turkey. When it is used with the Goose, then it helps it to be not so gamey. The meat just falls off of the bone. We eat it even when it is not Thanksgiving with Turkey Breast. That is particularly good and also beautiful with what is left of the Pineapple/Apple juice poured over the top.
Thanks a lot for your comments. You are very kind to have posted.

Another tip, as a side note, is to order at Honey Baked Ham and then pick up your sweet potatoes and smoked turkey from them. That is WAY DELICIOUS! It is important to order ahead though because the line is typically outside the door.

Where am I and what have they done to my body?

That sounds so yummy. My family likes my traditional turkey, but I am so going to try that with a turkey breast during the year. I never would have thought of pineapple with turkey but have done it with ham. I can't wait to try your recipe.
