DustBunny - your husband is traveling solo with 2?

Posted May 22, 2007 at 4:56PM in Vent and Confess by Sticky_Mommy | Back

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Whoa, bless his heart! Traveling with 2 kids, 3 & under - 2 car seats, etc. When my DH traveled with our then 1 year old daughter he was ewwh and awahed over by the flight attentance. I guess it's so rare for dudes to travel with kiddos and Mom's traveling solo is so common place.

dishing the dirt, cleaning the chaos

He took my 3yold to CA a few months back- he usually only travels with one. Maybe the flight attendant attention is why he's so quick to volunteer bringing the kids w/ him to see his parents in CA! I'm thankful for him getting all sapped over while I get some flipping peace & quiet :). Besides, in my mind, he owes me after an insane traveling episode while I was 8 mos pregnant traveling with an 18mo old & a 6yold. It was off the hook- reboarding and deplaning and taxiing and cancelling and rebooking and me crying...the whole deal...so, now I avoid trips and I send them with him...As for my 8yold, he is traveling f/burlington to san jose alone in july. He flew direct when he was 5 (f/ CO, which is way closer than VT!), but changing planes makes me & him a bit nervous! But, his trip w/ his grandparents to kona village, hawaii from there should fix it all...he'll be tired when he gets back! Lots of flights going on right now...

oh, and yes, I have done my TOTAL fair share of solo flights w/ kiddos...you got any fun kids in airport stories to tell?

Wow. I have a hard time convincing my husband to take both boys down the street to the general store.

my eight year old has to test every sink in the men's bathroom while I wait nervously between flights...outside...yelling, asking strange men if they saw a little boy....hoping I make the connecting flight....MILES.....I wait...he loves those sensors...I wait, he comes out...I had to see if every sink worked...ughh, sigh, aaawww, cute now looking back! (in DIA there are like 30 sinks...)
