Just to introduce myself....

Parenting is a lesson in itself. from baby to teen

I am different than most... my baby is 17 and graduating from school next year. I am a grandma because a step daughter from my husband's first marriage made bad decision and we are raising her two gorgeous girls. They are 16 months and 27 months. We would never change anything. It is tough somedays because they have so much energy and we thought we were finished. Because I work at Lowes Food my manager told me to register with mybaby and I would receive some great support. The oldest child is very delayed for her age due to shaken baby syndrome and other problems and the youngest is also a victim of child abuse. Please do not judge me I am young at only 39 but I am a very proud grandma and these girls are my life. My husband retired from the Navy in 2000 and still works a full time job as an engineer. I also have a 19 year old son who just completed his associate's degree in accounting and isnt sure what he wants to do now but works as a cook at at pool hall full time. So as you can see I have raised two wonderful children and now have two more to raise. I am here to meet others who share similar interest and can give me the support as I need it. I am very open minded and will try anything once. I enjoy bingo and reading but dont get to do it much since the babies are with us. By the way we have had them 4 months now and everyone says it gets easier well I think it does but dont.

They are both at young challenging ages and yeah the energy is non stop! All I can suggest is coffee coffee coffee! :o)

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Hey Welcome! OMG - your Grandbabies are sooo cute. And wow, I agree with Kelmcmom about them being so lucky to have you guys in their lives. It's hard and frustrating, esp when you thought you were done!

Coffee and wine helps me! Also babysitting so you can stay connected w/your husband and other kids. With the issues they have it will be harder the 2nd time around. Just don't forget to have time for yourself. I know...easier said then done!

This is the place to let it out!

Welcome welcome welcome! I'm a Grandma myself (I'm coming out of the pantry closet here, as this is the first time I've mentioned being one). You certainly have a wonderful heart and I am so happy for the girls that they have you and your husband. When they are older, you can write a terrific book about your experiences, but in the mean time, hang in there. You're loved and have such a wonderful heart. Karma and the girls will reward you. Keep posting - there are great folks on this site and I'm continually learning new things and feeling like the community helps me with my grandkids. Things have changed so much since I was a Mom! Hugs to you.
