When to have #2?

Diggin the motherhood gig

I know I ask alot of questions....but thats why I like this web site! I feel like this is the place to come for honest, to-the-point answers.

So my Question of the day-When did you decide to have kid #2? And what challenges if any, did you experience by that choice?

I am off the pill now (or as we are calling it now, we
pulled the goalie") and I am looking for advice. My first is currently 13 mo. old. The only thing I am not looking forward to is the lack or sleep again!

Guess it all depends on the type of delivery you had on the first. Mine was a C section. I was advised by my doc not to have another kid for the next 3 years. Glad that Kelmcmom brought this question up because even I was wondering about it.

good thing I did not have a c-section, ( I was close but I am happy to say I squeezed her out after 35 hours of labor!) but I would love another one soon. Though I would love to enjoy summer BBQ's with a glass of wine.

We have waited for the three year mark. I had a C-section, too, and definitely needed the time. We're not preggers yet, but are trying for three. That means our children will be four years apart. I guess the question is how far apart do you want them to be and still feel they will interact with each other?

I like the idea of waiting until the first child is potty trained. Having them closer together doesn't get one out of their extremely dependent stage before a new baby enters your life.

We're expecting our first, and reading around, expecting it to be pretty tough at the beggining, I can't really think about when a second one should bless us. Does anyone have any tips on how you can save money should you have 2 children? After all, you'll need an even bigger budget so that you can properly take care of them...
