Sleep problems

My 6 yr old is becoming a pain to go to sleep you put him to bed and then he plays and sings for at least 2 hours before finally going off, what can I do?

  I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

He might be so wound up he's trying to calm himself? What if you start his routine earlier?

Well if he likes music play some soothing jazz music. Plan his play time, dinner time and then sleep time early.

More than not most sleep issues have to do with the child napping too much during the day and or going to bed too late at night.

If he has toys in his room, you may need to remove them. Playing the smooth jazz, or something else that doesn't have lyrics as suggested in another comment,may help him drop off to sleep.
