Coffee Talk:Calgon take me away! Where would U go?

Posted June 6, 2008 at 4:42PM in Vent and Confess by dustbunny | Back

dishing the dirt, cleaning the chaos

I'm sitting here, Friday afternoon, in my chair feeling SLAMMED with tasks- every kind of task from picking up at the airport to birthday gifts to work requests (all of which I'm scrambling to get on top of!) to dinner to external stresses--and I started fantasizing (a 10 second fantasy, no bon bons or travel magazines) but I was like,

WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE TO WALK OUT THE FRONT DOOR and BE ON A SECLUDED BEACH IN THE SUNSHINE!

I ran around yesterday and realized, at 6:15 I had missed lunch, dinner and happy hour!
I hadn't even had coffee and the days are blending together- getting away from me completely.
I owe that to freelance work and a rotating schedule- not one day is the same during the week. ANYWAY, vent session is over.

WHERE WOULD YOU GO IF YOU COULD ESCAPE TOMORROW???
BTW, You kids could go if they were on their best behavior. NO SPOILERS ALLOWED - this is a fantasy, right?

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Beach with big floppy hat (of course I'm in shape, this is a fantasy) and someone bringing me cocktails. I would say Aurba. I've never been and that sounds nice. I might even bring my husband.

Kauai! In a heartbeat! Great green and un-touristy place with wonderful waves and mountains and enough to do so my conscience doesn't bother me. Or Egypt - of course, in my fantesy, there is no conflict between women and men nor US and Middle Eastern countries. History really lives and breaths there. And what a great place to shop for gifts for everyone!
