I'm late.

Posted June 6, 2008 at 4:44PM in Birth Stories by bshaffer | Back

My baby was concieved nine months ago today.  My water hasn't broken yet.  I'm scared.  I know I'm old to be having another child (42), but everything seems to be working fine.  Any other late bloomers have some advice?

Don't be scared. You are not late. Babies come when they are ready. Labor will start. Just enjoy these last moments of being pregnant and don' stress about the date.

dustbunny, I look so young because of the camera in the mirror effect. I saw some girls on MySpace doing it, and wanting to restore my youth gave it a shot! I added the pouty lips to give the ultimate "I'm a hot teen" look.

Massage therapist, martial artist, butt-kickin' momma.

I was almost two weeks late with my first baby. Don't worry, it will happen. He/she has to come out sometime!

I don't like to say people are "late". To me it just means your due date was wrong. You are past our approximate due date.

I am sure your baby will be born when she is ready. This gives you more time to get nice things for her!

Just remember that the edd is just an "estimate" or a "guesstimate". 2 of my 4 were 41 weekers and one was 40wks 6 days. Most times your care provider will start to moniter you a little more often once you get past 40 weeks. I know its hard to wait and uncomfortable too. I thought my second baby would never arrive. Hang in there!!
