Summer reading programs

Our local library had the start of their summer reading program on Monday.  My oldest son (age 6) has been counting down the days to this more than to our vacation.  We were there first thing Monday morning to sign up.  He has already read 4 hours since Monday.  If you have a local library near you see if they offer a summer reading program.  It is usually for ages Kindergarten and up.  Hours can be logged for time you spend reading to them too.  I think it is a wonderful activitiy for kids to get involved in over the summer.
