How do you deal with exhaustion?

Goofing around with my babies - Big and Lil

Its been more than a week since my son has been ill and I'm sooo exhausted.  I'm a SAHM and I also do some part time work from home to find some time for myself. But now that my baby is sick I'm so stressed out taking him  to the Drs, run around to find things that he would eat, manage home, manage work, manage hubby. There is hardly any time for myself . The one thing that makes me feel better is to sit down in front of TV atleast for 5 mins with some coke and chips. I'm wondering what else I could do to de-stress myself? Do you have any ideas? What do you do in such situations? Or what has made you feel better in times like this?

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

I like sitting in my garden and looking at all of my new little plants growing. It is really satisfying and relaxing to garden. I also just discovered free yoga videos online and have been doing yoga in the morning. Very relaxing, plus the kids join me.

reading a book, drinking tea (coke and chips will just stress you out more), gardening, yoga, listening to music, calling a friend, taking a bath . . .

Hey rockergirrl, why do you say that coke and chips will cause more stress? Is it because its not healthy?

Because Coke contains caffeine which makes stress and anxiety worse. And in general foods like that are not mood enhancers but the opposite.

Also the sugar, it gives you a quick pick me up and then makes you crash.

At the end of the day my brain is so fried that dd is put to bed, hubby goes to bed and I sit on the couch with a glass of wine and oyster crackers and veg out with mindless tv. that is my unwind time. sometimes I'll so a tea and a cookie with comedy central on. Anything that does not require brain thought.

hi. I hope you are feeling well~ I say tea is always good. warm bath...relaxing music (download off limewire or itunes), put your feet up, sleep and watch your favorite movies. I'd suggest watching a rentel copy of the entire sx and the city or some other tv series you like.
