Know your nuts....

Not those!  Okay, I just had to say it.  This morning as I was checking out MSN I found this great article on the healthiest nuts for your diet .  Very interesting indeed.  I'm a huge nut fan and it was nice to see what they actually contain.  On another nut front, new studies are suggesting that delaying the introduction of nuts to children may not be the greatest of ideas. There was this fabulous interview last week on Fresh Air (and NPR program for you geeks out there) with Dr. Hugh Sampson, who is one of the country's leading expert on all things allergy, especially how nuts can be so deadly to some.  Please listen to it.  The interview was great and really, really informative.

That's it on the nut front.  Hope the summer is going swell for ya'll!

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

My Ped said for to wait to eat nuts & popcorn until age 3. Our kids LOVE nuts. So we just watch with a close eye.

My sis told me 2. She's a school nurse and they have two kids in the school fatally allergic to nuts. If you listen to this guy, apparently there's no evidence that says waiting makes them any less susceptible and in fact in countries where nuts are a diet staple there is little to no allergic reaction to nuts. Those children get nuts at early ages. Who knows....
