Goofing around with my babies - Big and Lil

Does your child come up with a new demand everytime he accompanies you to the store? You don't really have to indulge him all the time. Instead, try one of these clever and sure-fire comebacks.

  • You could encourage your little one to maintain a diary that he could carry to the store with him. If he sees something he wants, you could tell him to add it to his wish list.  Then allow him to choose the one thing that he wants the most from his list on 'Buy Day', which is once every three to four months.

  • If your son asks for an expensive toy, offer to pay only for a less expensive version. If he really wants it, he can have it on a condition that he makes up the price difference fromhis pocket money.

  • You could give your kids a monthly allowance to take care of their little indulgences. So, when they ask you for something, You could say, 'Hey! That looks nice. But do you have the money for it?' When they answer ,'No,' I reply, 'Neither do I .' And they know the conversation's over.

Do you have any more tips to add to the list?
