Bad day

I am feeling like crap today.  I have one of my horrible headaches.  I suffer from daily chronic headaches but for the most part I have them under control and can get through my day without someone even knowing.  Once in a while though I get hit with a big one.  The kind that makes me feel sick and I can't focus or do anything.  My DH is in crunch time at work this week and can't take any time off so I am stuck at home with two kids and a puppy.  I have an ice pack on my head, I am about to put morning TV on (which I never do) for the kids, puppy is in his crate and I am heading for my head.  This is going to be a long, long, long day.   These are the days I hate being so far from family.  I feel so alone during these hard days.  It is only 8:30am and I just need it to be 7:00pm so badly.

Family isn't so far away. You've got two kids and a dog within arms reach of a hug. I'd say you're a lucky girl.

oh I know that - but it is very hard to take care of them on days like these by myself.

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

How about a kid exchange with one of your neighbors? Or get a Mommy's helper/baby sitter today?

Sorry! ((hugs))

  Life is crazy but wonderful.

Sounds like a migraine, try some advil/tylenol, caffeine, and a little rest. I used to suffer from daily headaches until I saw a chiropractor. He adjusted my neck and slowly but surely my headaches became less and less. I havne't had an adjustment in nearly 5 years, and I still don't have headaches the way I used to. You shouldn't have to suffer daily, call a chiropractor and check it out. I went to chiropractics works - dr. smith in Burlington when I lived down there. He works wonders. I hope you feel better, it is hard when you have a headache and kids.

Oh I have been to chiropractors and everything else. the advil/tylenol caffeine stuff does nothing for me. In fact there isn't anything I have found so far to help me. I have been dealing with this for 6 years. Ever since my 1st child was born. My Drs, allergist and neurologist have not been able to help. Through my own research I have pinned it down to be hormone related which is why they worsened post partum until I was finished breastfeeding each child and now only acts up real bad mid cycle each month when I am ovulating. Nothing helps me except an ice pack on the back of my head and laying down.

that is so awful. have you considered the pill? it would regulate your hormones. I had to go on yaz, not for birth control reasons, but for pms reasons. I suffer bad from all the symptoms. It has been a month and I alredy feel a lot more calm, I suffered from awful anxiety. But I have also noticed that my monthly headache has gone away. Last month I didn't take any advil at all. The first time in years.

thanks for the tip vtmom. I might consider it if it gets worse. This is the first time it has hit me this hard in a long time. I have found taking a Calcium/mag supplement, fish oil and yoga helps me keep things under control for the most part.

Sorry about your problem today. May be some coffee would help? Relax for the day. I'm sure your kids will understand
your difficult times.

it doesn't work for me. I am actually doing better than this morning. I was able to lay down for a little bit with an ice pack. It is still there but not as bad. I am at least functional now and was even able to take the dog out for a short walk. I just needed to vent.

the magnesium thing helps also. I have loaded my diet up with high magnesium/iron (because I suffered from low iron also)foods, and that has helped with my energy levels also. It is hard to suffer from this, I know for me it was getting debilitating, really starting to interfere with my life, and my doctor suggested either prozac or yaz. I really preferred the pill over an antidepressant. Feel better soon.
