Tips on grilling turkey burgers?

Posted July 30, 2008 at 9:02AM in Nutrition and Meals General by Sticky_Mommy | Back

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

We make Turkey Burgers at least once a week. I use a weight watcher recipe and mix in:

1 shredded zucchini or summer squash

½ chopped onion

2 TBL chopped cilantro

Mix in a 1lb of ground turkey and form 6 burgers (4 points per burger)

Here’s my issue, when we grill them they stick to the grill
and leave big chucks of our dinner on the grill. Any suggestions?

I assumeyou already spray the grill with oil or something. Maybe you need one of those grilling pans that has holes in it but is non-stick. All depends on how old your grill top is. Ocean State has some inexpensive toppers - you could ask someone who lives near a store to pick one up for you or look in a store near you. Otherwise, maybe you could put a big onion slice on the grill and cook each burger on that?

It may be the veggies sticking. But I make turkey burgers with just onion, garlic powder and Worchestire (spell that right?) sauce, and the usually dont stick. Besides pam for grilling, maybe a spoonful of olive oil (its healthy fat I swear) may help, and add moisture as well. I love turkey burgers!

TASTY!
I'd say just use the spray oil on the bars (not the pammy stuff, it's silicone!)... also mix w/ worchestire & garlic. YUM
