Any ideas for things to do with a 13 month old

Posted July 30, 2008 at 1:51PM in Activities, Arts & Crafts by michellerabon07 | Back

I have a 13 month old....I love playing with and her toys but I want something fun for her, more stimulating for the both of us. Does anyone have any good ideas?

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Yes! These are ideas from Dustbunny (she always has great ones!)
How about homemade playdough?

dishing the dirt, cleaning the chaos

music, movement, cooking (stirring etc), pouring, drinking from a cup, scavenger hunting (find sticks or rocks and put them in a basket), singing together, lids on containers, beading large rings on thick string, etc. are all quick ideas!

  Diggin the motherhood gig

I am right here with ya! Mine is almost 16 mo now....some of her fav things:
1-Helping me "fold laundry". A basket full of kicthen towels and washclothes is great to throw things in and out of!
2-outdoor kiddie pool-if possible. I get in too on hot days!
3. big bowls and plastic spoons-bake a cake together and let her eat some too!
4. I taught my lil one to "brush" my hair. We take turns. Plus it feels good. (once she stopped just smackin me with the brush)
5. def dancing and music is great.
6. going for a walk is always good, if your daughter can walk, the sidewalk is easy for her to follow.
7. nap together
8. aquadoodle is the best for young ones learning to hold crayons and cleaner than sidewalk chalk
9. Bubbles bubbles bubbles
10. Take her to get a donut and get a cup of joe for yourself!
11. buy a baby doll and cheap doll stroller and let her play mommy
12. chase her!
13. easter egg hunt! as dustbunny said, kids love collecting things and putting them in baskets etc
14. old purses? remember those small ones you used to have? hand them down to your lil girl!
15. Plastic dollar store phones. Best toy ever.
