Snack Food Recipe Help

Posted September 11, 2008 at 8:36AM in Talk Around The Playground General by vtmomof2 | Back

Life is crazy but wonderful.

Snack foods are really expensive, and with the kids back in school they need some snack food.  I was thinking that I am going to bake something over the weekend and then dole it out during the week as my kids snacks.  Does anybody have any snack recipes?  Something that is healthy and will nourish them.  I don't want to make brownies or anything.  I thought about making granola, but that can get expensive also.  Any suggestions?

Looking to make new friends :)

Mini muffins to the rescue! Do apple & nut muffins to give them energy.
How about hard boiled eggs, home made hummus and carrot sticks, apple slice with peanut butter, cheese slices and nuts and dried fruit.

Thank you! those are all great suggestions. I think I might do the mini muffins. We will be apple picking soon, and I have blueberries in my freezer. My son loves hard boiled eggs, just not the yolk he only likes the whites.
