How Do/Did you cope?

Posted September 19, 2008 at 4:56AM in Postpartum Depression by Simplyme | Back

I had one heck of a time coping with my postpartum depression after my last and it seemed to just hang with me for the longest time. So, I was wondering how you guys either coped or dealt with it? And is there anything you would recommend for another mother suffering from it?

Goofing around with my babies - Big and Lil

For me it did not last very long because my mother helped me with all the household work and also took care of the baby.Try the following steps.
1. Sleep when your baby sleeps.
2.Ask for help. Let a neighbor make you dinner. Have your mother-in-law watch the baby while you sleep, shop, exercise or take a bath.
3.Share your feelings with other women.
4.Join a support group
5.Exercise.
6.Take time to look good
7.Eat right.
8.Buy a book about postpartum depression and read it.

I love my job, it gives me a break from my kids!

Don't keep it yourself. The more we talk about it the less stigma it will have. It's happens to most Moms.
