An Apple A Day Keeps the Flu Away - Really!

Take a look at this Real Age:  thttp://www.realage.com/ct/eat-smart/food-and-nutrition/tip/7196ip

Yep. Apples (and red onions, broccoli, and tea) are great sources of quercetin -- a flavonoid that may stave off the influenza virus when the body is under stress. With kids in pre-school and elementary school, they have plenty of opportunity to get sick - and bring it home to Mom and Dad. Apples are in season and are so tasty anyway - organic apples are probably at their lowest price now, too.

I really don't like McDonalds adding 'dips' to apples (takes away the idea that apples are good by themselves) but if that's what it takes for your kids to eat an apple a day, make your own healthy dip and enjoy!
